Week 2 Part B - Business Research
Eufora

- Eufora is an international hair care brand that a lot of hair salons around the world carry as their main hair care line.
- They have many social media forms linked at the bottom of their website. They have Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Pinterest, and Vimeo. They post on Instagram every couple days or so. Their last post was 23 hours ago. They have 22.6k followers. They hardly post on Facebook, with their last post being in September of 2022. They have 26k followers on there. They only have three posted YouTube videos, the last being 9 months ago. They have 1.73k subscribers.
- I would say Eufora uses their social media platforms fairy well, with Instagram definitely being the best. They post on Instagram all the time and use different types of posts like reel and stories to promote their business as well. In my opinion, they should be using Facebook more than they are right now though, especially because a lot of their older audience most likely uses that more than Instagram.
Sola Salon Studios

- Sola Salon Studios is a popular chain of thousands of hair salons in the US and Canada.
- They have their Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest accounts linked on their website. It looks like they post on Instagram every day, with their last post being today, and they have 53.1k followers. They post on Facebook the same amount since it seems like their posts on Instagram and Facebook are linked. They have 105k followers. They post a lot less on Twitter, maybe every few months or so. Their last post was in September of 2022 and they have 1,700 followers.
- Sola Salons definitely uses their social media well. I like that they automatically have it set that their posts will be the same on both Instagram and Facebook so the different audiences can enjoy the same content.
Supercuts

- Supercuts is another popular hair salon chain with locations in the US and Canada as well.
- On their website, they have their Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube linked. They also have an app that they promote as well. It looks like they post every few days to a week, and their last post was 20 hours ago as of right now. They have 73k followers. On Twitter, they have almost 9k followers, and they have not posted since December 2022 but they will reply to people's tweets often. On Instagram, they have 13.1k followers and they post the same amount as Facebook.
- Overall, they post about the same as Sola Salon Studios. They interact with other people's posts and tweets often, which is definitely good. It also looks like they have their Instagram and Facebook linked as well.
Glampire Beauty

- Glampire is a local beauty and hair salon in San Diego.
- They have their Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, and Yelp linked on their website. On Facebook, they have 198 followers, and have not posted since December 2022. On Instagram, they have 1,520 followers and post pretty infrequently. Their last post was 5 days ago, but then it skips to December 2022.
- Glampire seems pretty inconsistent with their social media overall. Their Instagram and Facebook look really nice but they just aren't posting as much as they should be for the best audience reach. They are the only ones who have linked their Yelp page though, so that it something to take into account.
'Do Beauty Boutique

- 'Do Beauty Boutique is a stylist owned salon in San Diego.
- They only have their Facebook and Instagram accounts linked, as well as their email. On Facebook, I cannot even access their account. It says "This content isn't available right now." For Instagram, they have 583 followers, post every few days, and their last post was two days ago.
- 'Do Beauty Boutique is not doing great with their social media in my opinion. Their Instagram looks great, but they are not reaching their full potential with the other social media platforms. They could be reaching out to so many more people if they had their Facebook page running and maybe started posting on Twitter as well.
I discovered a lot while researching these businesses. It actually made me feel more confident with the social media work that I am doing for the podcast I help with. A lot of these businesses do not post very frequently or consistently at all, which I would imagine is making it so that less people even know about them. It seemed that every business posted pretty well on Instagram though, which is interesting to me. Instagram definitely is the best place to have a consistent feed in my opinion, but Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc should be just as important if they want to reach as many people as possible.
I would have though Supercuts would have more followers since they have locations across the United states. When doing my research, Instagram, Reels and tik Tok are the go to for almost everything.
