Week 8 Part B

The hashtags that I used were #cosmetologyschool, #eufora, #hairstylist, #salonowner, #salonownershipmadeeasy, #cosmetologystudent, #hairsalonstylist. I just thought of general keywords that apply to the podcast. The only one that is really specific to my business was the #salonownershipmadeeasy one, which is the name of the podcast and account. We generally like to post around evening times because we find that that is when our audience, especially on Instagram, is most active. Typically, it is anywhere from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM. This assignment just reinforced what I already knew about how important it is to be very specific and intentional about everything when it comes to posting on Instagram for a business.  I left a comment on Denise's post and Nicole's post.

Week 8 Part A

Eufora Instagram definitely seems to work for them. They are a big business so their social media is generally very well managed. They use many hashtags in each of their posts. It looks like they copy and paste the same hashtags for each post. They use hashtags that have the keywords from their products in it. They put their hashtags in the comment section of their post. They come up with multiple of the hashtags if I search them. They have 23k followers, they post every couple days, their last post was 4 hours ago, and they do receive a good amount of comments.  Brazilian Blowout  Their Instagram seems a little bit less aesthetically pleasing than the Eufora account, however they do seem to post frequently. They do not use hashtags. They have 143k followers, and their last post was 2 days ago. They get anywhere from 100-600 likes roughly on each post.  Supercuts They very rarely use hashtags, and when they do, it is usually one word or phrase from their post. They ...

Week 7 Part B

I wouldn't necessarily say my classmates are using Instagram in any different ways than I am. The two accounts I looked at were fictional so they only had a few posts, however the posts were eye-catching and seemed to get their message across.  I went to the Barnes & Noble Instagram account to see what they were doing and I really enjoy their posts. They are all very bright and high quality. For being such a different type of business, I would say they are using Instagram in the same way as me. They get very descriptive about the books that they promote.  I also looked at Crumbl Cookies. In my opinion, they do an incredible job at marketing their cookies on their Instagram. They create visually aesthetic and high quality videos showcasing their flavors each week, with a description of each in the caption.  I would love to film high quality videos for the Instagram, similar to how Crumbl does. I think it grabs attention is makes you want to try their products even more...

Week 7 Part A

I already have an existing Instagram account for my mom's business. I am responsible for running about 95% of the Instagram. We have 224 followers as of today. It is definitely the most effective social media platform at promoting our business. The main business that we are promoting is my mom's podcast, so we promote that every day on the Instagram. We also promote her YouTube channel as well, but her podcast is her main business right now. Since I took over the social media a few months ago, we have been seeing a huge increase in podcast listeners and Instagram followers. I post on the Instagram every day, whether that is in the form of a reel, a story, or a post. We do find that the reels are the most effective though so I try to do a lot of those. I try to use hashtags in most of the posts and I usually will do ones like #eufora, #cosmetologystudent, #hairstylisttips, #salonsuccess, #salonowners, #hairstylist, etc. We try to use a big variety of hashtags so it reaches the ...

Week 6 Part B

Image
I commented on Sascha Shapiro's post and Dustin Wells's post.  I scheduled three posts, one of "my" coffee shop, and two of lattes. I have decided that my fictional coffee shop will have a pink theme, so I have started incorporating that color into each post. I learned from observing the other coffee businesses on Facebook that using bright colors in your posts is a great way to grab people's attention. The second post scheduled is a picture of a coffee shop I found online that has an entirely pink theme, so I used that as the inspiration of mine. I also think that when people see that latte that is actually pink, they will want to try it themselves (I know I do).

Week 6 Part A

The businesses I chose to like on Facebook were: Starbucks  Better Buzz Coffee Philz Coffee Dunkin' Sleeping Tiger Coffees Baba Coffee Lofty Coffee I chose the first four businesses because they are popular coffee shop chains that would be our competition. It would be even more difficult to persuade the customers of these businesses to try our coffee shop since they are so loved and well known. The last three coffee shops are in Carlsbad Village, where our coffee shop would be. These are different since they are so close, so we would have to really analyze what it is that they are doing, and try to take those strategies and apply them to our coffee shop.  The more popular chains (the first four) generally post fairly regularly on Facebook and have aesthetically pleasing posts. On the other hand, Sleeping Tiger has not posted since 2020. Most of these businesses use mainly pictures as their posts, but sometimes videos too. Philz Coffee, for example, uses bright colors and emoji...
